Adoption!

In the last two weeks, out of the animals I have photographed only 5 are still at the shelter! Three of the 5 just arrived on Friday so they have not been there very long yet. Below I have posted photographs of most of the dogs that have been adopted :-)

Although the photographs I have taken have not been posted for these animals, it makes me really happy to see that they are all getting adopted so quickly. I want to help as many animals stay away from the long time room as I can. These animals are so sweet they just want to be loved. Most of my previously photographed were only in the Wake County Animal Center anywhere from 1 to 5 days. I have seen these beautiful dogs fly out of the shelter to new homes because they are so sweet. A lot of these dogs were stray holds who had families wanting to adopted them the same day that they came into the animal center. It gives me great satisfaction to see the quick turnover rate with the animals who do come in the center. I wish there was a way to slow down the number of them coming in.

  1. This is such an uplifting post to read! So many of the animals that you photographed (and in general) are finding loving homes. Seeing these several images of dogs who have been adopted really warms my heart :). It's great to hear that some dogs were being adopted the day they entered!

  2. I like how you bring out the dog's personalities in your photographs. It is easy to see why they are being adopted so quickly. I believe that photographs of the dogs smiling are great photographs that will defiantly get an animal adopted!

  3. I empathize with your sentiments. I think more spaying and neutering would be the quickest way to slow down the intake at the animal shelter. Even if your photos did not make it up to the website before the animal got a home, please know that the time you spent with them and the attention you gave them also helped them. You are absolutely an integral part of these animals success stories! CONGRATULATIONS!
